Now to decode the office furniture storage lingo:

Pedestals refer to the storage units under a work surface that come in Box/Box/File, File/File, and Box/Box configurations. They can be floor supporting or hanging, depending on the station and your needs.

Lateral Files are the 2-5 drawer units that typically come in 30”, 36”, or 42” wide. They are longer side-to-side than front-to-back.

Vertical Files are the 2-5 drawer units that are deeper front-to-back.

Storage Cabinets refer to wardrobe type configurations that can be combined with drawers for efficient storage, like the white Hon Flagship Tower shown above.
